Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours and fees?

My hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm.

My rates are: $175 for 45-minute individual sessions, $225 for 60-minute individual sessions. The first session will be 60 minutes, and you may choose whether to continue with 45 or 60-minute sessions after that. My rate for 60-minute couples sessions is $250.

Do you take insurance?

I’m not in-network with any insurance companies, meaning I don’t bill insurance directly. But if you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a superbill (a bill stating what services are rendered) to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. Many clients who have out-of-network (OON) benefits are able to be reimbursed for 30%-70% of their bill - please contact your insurance company for specific information about your plan. More information about that can be found here. Please note: I do not provide superbills for couples therapy.

Do you have low-fee or sliding scale spots?

Equitable access to therapy is important to me and I reserve a limited number of lower-fee spots for clients who are BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and musicians. Please contact me for more information.

How long do people usually stay in therapy?

The duration of therapy depends on what issues a client would like to address - it can range from a few sessions to a few years. How much energy and emotional capacity you have to give during our sessions will also determine the length of our work together.

How often should I expect to have therapy sessions?

I see most clients on a weekly basis, and recommend starting with at least 3 consecutive weekly appointments in order to build trust, and so that I can have a better understanding of how to support your goals in therapy. After the third appointment, we can decide what frequency of sessions would make sense moving foward.

How do I choose the right therapist?

My advice would be to choose the person who you feel the most comfortable with. Do you feel safe being vulnerable with them? How does your body feel when you’re talking to them? Listen to your intuition. Numerous research studies have shown that the relationship between the therapist and the client is the single most important determinant of success in therapy. Being able to trust your therapist is crucial.

I’m ready to take the next step. How do I get started?

You can either book a first appointment with me or a 15-minute consultation by clicking on the orange “Request Appointment” link on this page. Confirmation of first appointments will require paperwork to be completed, which I will send over once I receive your appointment request.
